Hamza’s son beats bouncer death charges

Ealing

Firearms charges against the son of radical Muslim hate preacher Abu Hamza’a son have been dropped.

Imran Kamel, 26, was arrested as part of the police investigation into the death of bouncer Tudor Simionov, 33, who was stabbed to death outside a New Year’s Eve sex party in Mayfair.

He had been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life at Fountain House in Park Lane, Mayfair.

Mr Simionov was killed as he tried to stop gatecrashers joining the orgy at the £12.5 million home.

The charges against Kamel were linked to a separate incident at the venue shortly after the killing on January 1 at around 5.36am during which no firearm was discharged.

They were not directly connected to Mr Simionov’s death or the other people who were injured in the attack.

Kamel was not required to attend the two-minute hearing at the Old Bailey this morning where Judge Mark Dennis QC confirmed the Crown decided to drop the case last Friday following further consideration.

A spokesman for the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed: ‘We have a duty to keep cases under continuing review and, following a further review of all the available evidence in this case, we concluded that the evidential test to provide a realistic prospect of conviction was not met.

‘The charges were therefore discontinued.’

Kamel, of The Grove, Ealing, west London, will face no further action.

Abu Hamza was previously jailed in the UK for inciting violence and was extradited to New York after an eight-year legal battle.

He is currently serving a life sentence in the US for terrorism offences.
