In court for shouting at a BBC journalist
An anti-lockdown protester has denied hounding BBC journalist Nicholas Watt in Whitehall. Martin Hockridge, 57, yelled ‘Traitor!’ at the Newsnight political editor on 14 June – but he denies it was a ‘threatening or abusive word’ to use. Footage shared widely on social media shows a swarm of protestors chasing the journalist on Whitehall, then onto Richmond Terrace.
