JAHANGIR: HOTEL PROWLER CAUGHT WITH HIS TROUSERS DOWN JAILED FOR THREE YEARS

A hotel security guard who was caught prowling with his trousers down in a young guest’s room as she slept has been jailed for three years.

Mohammed Jahangir, 41, plied the pretty 22-year-old with free drinks in the bar before she retired to bed for the night.

He then made himself a new keycard, waited until she had dozed off, and crept in to her room.

The astonished guest awoke to find him standing in front of her, stripped from the waist down – still wearing his uniform jacket, shirt and tie.

Jahangir denied there was any sexual motivation behind the 5am visit, at the Euston St Pancras Ibis hotel in north London, on August 29 last year.

But on Friday he was found guilty after a trial at Blackfriars Crown Court and Judge David Martineau jailed the pervert immediately.

The judge said the effect on the woman had been ‘literally devastating’, after CCTV showed the stalker was in her room for several minutes without her knowledge.

Judge Martineau said: ‘She cannot be certain what you did to her. You were in there for five-and-a-half minutes.’

Jahangir claimed he entered the room to continue a conversation with the tourist, and that he then suddenly needed the toilet and dropped his trousers.

The judge added: ‘You have been convicted on very strong evidence and frankly it would have been very much in your interest to have offered a plea of guilty.’

Jurors had burst into laughter when Jahangir claimed he also washed his privates in the bathroom and the judge asked: ‘You put water in the cup of your hand and put it in between your legs?’

Jahangir replied: ‘It’s enough. I’m a man. Just to put water one time. Water don’t make it bad.’

The victim, a Dutch bank worker, travelled to London from the Netherlands to give evidence against Jahangir.

The woman had spent the day sightseeing with two friends before the group returned to the Cardington Street hotel for dinner and drinks.

The group were served drinks by Jahangir, many of them free of charge, she told jurors.

She went to bed at shortly after 4am and three minutes later he can be seen taking the lift to the 5th floor to her room.

Jacqueline Samuel, prosecuting, said: ‘The defendant was in front of her.

‘His underpants, trousers and shoes were off.

‘He was wearing the top half of his clothing – a shirt, tie and jacket.

Jahangir, of Pennack Road, Peckham, se London, denies trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence on August 29, 2010 and was convicted.

He willl have to sign indefinitely as a sex offender.
