Let-off for protester who hit cop with a bottle

An anti-lockdown protestor who hurled a beer bottle at a police officer leaving him with serious head injuries has been spared jail. Gary Bridgett, 52, attended the protest at Trafalgar Square organised by the ‘freedom’ movement Stand Up X on 26 September 2020. Bridgett threw a full beer bottle at Pc Nick Hunter’s head causing him cuts and swelling. Pc Hunter was immediately seen by medics and needed stitches for his head injuries.
