A nurse was who convicted of nine counts of making indecent images of children is facing a misconduct hearing today (FRI).
Gordon Thomas Main, 43, was working as an occupational health nurse for PTH Group Limited, based in Worcestershire, when the indecent photographs were found on his laptop computer.
He admitted nine charges of making indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of children at
Worcester Crown Court on March 30, 2005.
Main, now living in Sheffield, was sentenced to a community rehabilitation order for three years with a requirement to attend a sexual offender programme.
He was also ordered to sign on the sexual offenders register for five years.
Main has chosen not to attend the hearing at the Nursing and Midwifery Council in central London, and wrote in a letter to the NMC: ‘I’ve no intention to defend my behaviour at a tribunal.’
If he is found guilty of misconduct he could face being struck off.
The case is expected to be opened this afternoon.
