Nine months for gritter killer

  A council gritter lorry driver who ran over and killed an IT consultant while doing an illegal U-turn on a major road was jailed for nine months today. Peter Wright, 46, ignored two ‘No U-turn’ signs and failed to slow down before swinging his truck into a gap in the central reservation opposite a police station.
