Nine sex offences, a string of terrified women and the cycling pervert is free to ride again

A cycling pervert who carried out nine sex offences after approaching women on his bike has been let off with a suspended sentence.

Abdul Nadher Kayum, 19, wore a mask as he either exposed himself or carried out a sexual assault, Snaresbrook crown court heard.

On four of the occasions he masturbated during the incidents.

He would do this whilst cycling past the victim or from a doorway or lane.

Kayum also offered to pay his victims to pleasure him and followed them on the bike if they ran away.

The offences were committed between August 31 and September 28 around the Bow area.

Kayum turned himself in after officers appealed to the public for information in October 2021.

He admitted three counts of sexual assault, five counts of indecent exposure and one count of outraging public decency.

Kayum, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.

He was also issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years, prohibiting him from approaching or communicating by words or gesture with any lone female on any street, footway or in a green space and placed on the sexual offences register for ten years.

Detective Constable Janina Parol, from the Sapphire team at the Central East Basic Command Unit, said: ‘Kayum carried out vile sexual offences against women as they unassumingly went about their day-to-day business.

‘He targeted lone women and instilled unnecessary fear in a community for a number of weeks.’
