Pakistani politician ‘encouraged terrorism’

The self-exiled founder of one of Pakistan’s biggest political parties appeared in court  charged with encouraging terrorism. Altaf Hussain, 66, allegedly relayed a speech from London to crowds gathered in Karachi in August 2016. Hussain addressed supporters of his MQM party in Pakistan’s biggest city via telephone, played to crowds by loudspeaker.
