ROBERTS:TRIO DENY MURDERING MUSICIAN IN THE STREET

Three men denied stabbing a musician to death in the street when they appeared at the Old Bailey today (weds).

Ryan Gray, 24, was run down and knifed by a group of men in broad daylight less than a mile from his home in Islington, north London, the court was told.

He was found fatally injured in Horsell Road at 2.34pm on 4 June and died in hospital four days later.

Delton Campbell-Brown, 19, Stephen Roberts, 21, and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named, are all charged with murder.

The three accused appeared in court via videolink and denied the killing.

Members of Mr Gray’s family sat in the hearing as the trio entered their not guilty pleas.

The three-week trial will take place at the Old Bailey on 9 February 2015.

Mr Gray was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died on 8 June.

The young musician, who performed under the name Reckz, has a five-year-old son.

Campbell-Brown, of (63d) Cazenove Road, Hackney, East London, Roberts, of (Flat 8, 23) Highbury New Park Road, Highbury, North London, and the 17-year-old, of Islington, North London, all deny murder on 8 June 2014.

All three accused were remanded in custody and ordered to appear on 3 December for a pre-trial hearing.
