Romanian dad ‘swiped phones from women’


A Romanian dad thieved mobile phones worth nearly £2,000 while posing as a beggar, a court heard. Lupascu Bancuta, 31, allegedly placed a piece of paper or an envelope to distract his alleged victims in St James’s Park and Green Park in central London. The jobless father-of-two was identified by witnesses who described a ‘distinct’ disability to his right arm, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.
