Schizophrenic son beat mother to death with cricket bat

A paranoid schizophrenic son clubbed his mother to death with a cricket bat, the Old Bailey heard. Shanil Patel, 32, is accused of murdering 62-year-old Hansa Patel at their home in Greenford, west London, on 25 November last year. Police arrested him the following day and he was interviewed at Ealing police station.
