A Scotland Yard detective accused of stealing more than £83,000 seized from passengers travelling through Heathrow claims the ‘integrity of the whole department was in question’, a court heard today (Fri). Michael Harrington, 45, a serving financial investigator in the Met’s Economic Crime Unit (ECU), allegedly stole cash taken from 16 passengers in a five-year crime spree.
