Small boats refugee Kabashi Ibrahim ‘spat at cop’

A Sudanese small boat migrant who was living in a ‘supported accommodation complex’ has denied spitting at a police officer.

Kabashi Ibrahim, 22, allegedly assaulted the officer in Westminster, central London.

Westminster Magistrates Court heard the incident took place last July 20, when Ibrahim was approached by police.

Ibrahim, who arrived in the UK from Sudan was assisted in court by an interpreter and allowed bail while he awaits his trial.

Mr Ismail Amin, prosecuting, said two witnesses saw Ibrahim’s vile assault on PC Taunton.

The prosecutor added Ibrahim was previously living in a supported accommodation complex in Buckinghamshire

The accommodation complex Ibrahim lived in is for ‘those at risk of homelessness’.

Jack Ward, defending, said Ibrahim is an asylum seeker who came to the UK from Sudan on a small boat.

Wearing all black, with a picture of a tiger on his jeans, Ibrahim appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court today (fri), and spoke only to confirm his personal details.

He was assisted by a Sudanese interpreter.

Ibrahim, now of no fixed abode, denied common assault of an emergency worker.

Addressing him, Magistrate Mrs Evans said: ‘If you do not go to court for your trial, it could go ahead without you being there, and if you don’t go to court, a warrant can be issued for your arrest.’

Mrs Evans granted Ibrahim unconditional bail until his trial, expected to last half a day, on November 4, 2025, at City of London Magistrates Court.
