TEENAGERS DENY STREET STABBING
Three boys aged 15 are set to stand trial in November accused of stabbing a teenager to death in the street.
The youths, who cannot be named because of their age, are charged with the murder of 16 year-old Yemurai Kanyangarara in Welling, southeast London, last month.
Yemurai, from Belvedere, Kent, was attacked in broad daylight as he got off a bus in Upper Wickham Lane at around 5pm on July 1.
He bled to death in the street after suffering a single stab wound to the neck.
He was a pupil at St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School, Bexleyheath, but had been living with his father in Leicester.
Two 15 year-olds from Peckham and a third from Camberwell appeared at the Old Bailey today for a preliminary hearing (Tues) accused of his murder.
Judge Timothy Pontius QC set a trial for November 7. The case is expected to last up to four weeks.
The boys will return to court for a plea and case management hearing on October 11.
They were remanded in custody.
