Libel victory for Abramovich

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has secured an early victory in his battle with the publishers Harper Collins after a High Court judge ruled defamatory claims were made about him in a book about Vladimir Putin. The book repeated untrue allegations made by a discredited fugitive that the Russian premier had somehow been involved in Mr Abramovich’s purchase of Chelsea FC.
