£250k fine after worker is crushed to death

A waste management company was fined nearly £250,000 after a labourer was crushed to death by an earthmover. Stelian Florian Gavriliuc, 24, was working at the Neasden Goods Yard in northwest London when he was struck by a Liebherr L544 shovel vehicle on 25 August 2017. Mr Gavriliuc died from his injuries in hospital five days later. Paul Evers, 56, the boss of Ace Waste Haulage Ltd, was acquitted of breaching health and safety law by an Old Bailey jury….
