A naked driver who waved a sex aid in the faces of two sisters after following them home from the pub told the Old Bailey today (TUES) of his shame.

Balding William Barclay, 37, pulled alongside the two women in their car on Copers Cope Road, Beckenham, and shouted: ‘Have sex with this.

‘

He then appeared to perform a sex act in front of them and continued to pursue them as they attempted to drive away.

Two other women pedestrians had a close escape when they refused to accept a lift with the naked offender.

All four women dialled police and officers later stopped him in his car still in the nude.

They discovered a hoover extension pipe, the sex toy and a womens lingerie magazine in the passenger seat.

His shoes and trousers were in the boot.

Barclay, of [9] Buckland Road, Orpington, Kent, told the court: ‘I am really sorry about what happened.

I’m ashamed about the night in question.

‘

He admitted outraging public decency at Copers Cope Road, Beckenham, on October 14 last year and was sentenced to a 12 month conditional discharge.

A single charge of indecent assault relating to one of the women was left on the file.

Judge Richard Hawkins, QC, told him: ‘What you did must have been extremely upsetting to put it mildly to those young women in the car.

‘

Prosecutor Alan Bayliss said Barclay was drunk at midnight on October 13 and had failed to take his medication.

‘All these women were concerned and got in touch with police.

‘He was arrested and taken to the police station where he made no comment in interview.

He was also seen by a psychiatrist who confirmed he suffered from manic depression.

‘

Defence barrister Jenny Dempster said it was fortunate the attack ‘did not get further out of hand.

‘

‘He has not touched alcohol since then and makes sure he takes his medication.

His mother is a nurse and helps him to do this.

‘

Magistrates banned him from driving for three years for drink driving last year.

Barclay was conditionally discharged for 12 months after he promised to spend three days a week at a centre where he will help other people decorate their houses and cook food.
