A driver accused of driving at a police officer who clung to his bonnet for a third of a mile appeared at the Old Bailey today.

Sean Huntroyd, 30, is charged with the attempted murder of beat bobby PC Roy Teague, 28.

The officer was was taken to Frimley Park Hospital after he was hit by a Ford Escort in Southwell Park Road, Camberley on July 19 this year.

Shaven headed Huntroyd, who is of no fixed address but was living in the Blackwater area, spoke only to answer to his name in the two minute hearing.

He is due back before court to enter pleas to the charges on September 23.
