MATLOK: POLE DENIES TAKING RED BULL FROM MADONNA’S LONDON HOME
A man today (weds) denied breaking into Madonna’s £10m London mansion to steal an energy drink. Grzegorz Matlok, 30, allegedly used a rope to climb up to the balcony of the heavily-fortified ten-bed Georgian townhouse in Marylebone on March 12. Matlok then roamed into a neighbouring house, also owned by Madonna, and then an office used by the singer’s staf, it is said. But the only item Matlok is accused of stealing is a can of red bull energy drink, valued by the prosecution at £2.40. Madge was not in the property at the time, having taken her four children to Bay City, in Michigan, to pay her respects to her late grandmother Elsie Mae Fortin Matlok today pleaded not guilty to three counts of burglary and was ordered to stand trial next month. The Pole, who is being held in in the hospital wing of HMP Wandsworth, was flanked by hospital staff as he entered his pleas via an interpreter Southwark Crown Court. Matlok, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody after his trial was fixed for September 12. The alleged burglaries came just six months after Maddona, 52, was targeted by a man who was arrested outside her New York apartment carrying two knives. ENDS
