‘ISIS militant’ faces court

A suspected ISIS militant charged with preparation of terrorist acts after he was deported from Turkey was remanded in custody today (mon). Mamum Rashid, 26, was arrested at Heathrow Airport on 14 November and charged with preparation of terrorist acts under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006. Prosecutor Punam Chopra told Westminster Magistrates’ Court: ‘The Crown says that on or before the 4 February 2019 he was engaged in preparation to affect his aim to commit acts of terrorism.’…
