Small boat captain jailed for just 18 months

A Sudanese small boat captain caught smuggling 70 migrants across the Channel after a woman was found dead on a French beach has been jailed for just 18 months. Howmalow Mawum-Duop, 22, piloted a large rigid hulled inflatable boat (RHIB) from Northern France to the Kent coast on 26 September last year.
