Jogger who ran out of control and pushed man into canal is spared jail

A jogger who barged a man into Regent’s Canal in front of his girlfriend wept as he has been spared jail. Samuel Flowers, 39, shoved Matthew Wallace so hard he smashed his head on a boat and ended up under the water, Stratford Magistrates Court heard. Passer-by Tobias Palmer-Bee heard the commotion and tried to stop Flowers as he ran along the waterway path in Mile End, east London.
