A crooked trainee teacher admitted using a wine company to cheat banks and building societies of hundreds of thousands of pounds today.
Eileen Hunter, 32, ran a business called Cellars To You Ltd, as a vehicle to rip off its creditors and franchisees, Blackfriars Crown Court heard.
Hunter, declared bankrupt on 21 October 1999, netted pnd stlg 273,786, in bank loans by lying about her financial status.
Hunter pleaded guilty to one count of fraud; four counts of obtaining money by deception; and one count of failing to deliver up company property to the liquidator.
In the fraud charge, Hunter admitted ‘carrying on a business called Cellars To You Ltd for a fraudulent purpose, namely to defraud its creditors and franchisees between 25 November 1997 and 14 October 1998.

In her two biggest swindles, Hunter admitted obtaining pnd stlg 123,000 by deception from the Royal Bank of Scotland On 15 December 1998.
She lied to the bank by stating she had been employed by Cellars To You as its main buyer for nine years.
And she also admitted obtaining a credit as a bankrupt of pnds stlg 113,995 from Northern Rock ‘without informing Northern Rock she was an undischarged bankrupt’ on 19 December 2000.
She denied a further eight offences which were left to lie on the file, including failing to preserve accounting records.
These were two counts of forgery, two counts of obtaining a bank credit by deception, concealment of property from the official receiver, and two counts of obtaining a bank credit while a bankrupt.
Hunter, of (19) Cavendish Court, Newbury, Berks, will now be sentenced on January 18, 2002.
