A gunman left two people dead and another seriously injured
in a ‘hideous orgy of criminal behaviour,’ the Old Bailey heard
today (Tues).
Scotsman Thomas Cook, 29, kicked and stamped invalid Christo
pher Jabelman, 59, to death to get his disabilty cheque.
Nine days later, he blasted Christopher Russell in the arm
with a stolen gun because he had refused to give him his portable
stereo.
And when Mr Russell’s horrified wife Pauline bravely went to
his aid, Cook blasted her in the throat with the ‘Dirty Harry’
style magnum revolver.
He then shot her husband again in the arm as a warning not to
call an ambulance to save his mortally injured wife.
She died a week later in hospital.
Cook, originally from Coatbridge, near Glasgow, has pleaded
guilty to two murders, one attempted murder and related charges
all carried out in Pinner, Middlesex, in February last year.
He will be dealt with later.
On trial is his ‘constant companion,’ Iain MacPherson, 19,
from Hayes, Middlesex, who denies being a willing accomplice to
the savage crimes.
He faces two charges of murder, one of attempted murder and
related firearm charges.
A third man, Glynn Reynolds, also from Hayes, denies possess
ing the murder weapon with intent.
He and MacPherson both admit burgling the home of Reynold’s
brother-in-law from where they stole the Magnum revolver.
The trial continues tomorrow Wednesday.
