Accused killer ‘was son of florist’s girlfriend’

An alleged killer charged with murdering a popular florist was the son of the victim’s girlfriend, a court heard. Tony Eastlake, 55, known as the ‘flower man of Islington’ by customers, was stabbed to death on Essex Road, Islington on Saturday 29 May. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene at 5.27pm and provided first aid but despite their best efforts Mr Eastlake was pronounced dead soon after.
