Accused of killing four
An alleged killer accused of murdering four members of the same family including his girlfriend has appeared in court.
Dolet Hill, 64, her husband Denton Burke, 58, daughter Tanysha Drummonds, 45, and granddaughter Samantha Drummonds, 27, were all found stabbed to death at her home in Bermondsey, southeast London.
Police had been called to a disturbance at the family’s three-bedroom terraced home in Delaford Road, near Millwall Stadium, at 1.40am on Monday (25).
Armed officers smashed down the door and discovered the bodies.
Tanysha was a qualified nurse while Ms Hill had worked as a housekeeping assistant at Guy’s and St Thomas’s hospital in Westminster for 21 years before retiring in 2018.
Joshua Jacques, 28, the boyfriend of Samantha, was arrested at the scene of the bloodbath.
He was charged earlier today following an investigation by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
Wearing a grey prison tracksuit Jacques appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with four counts of murder.
He spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the brief hearing.
District Judge Daniel Sternberg said: ‘Your case will be heard at the Central Criminal Court on 3 May.
‘I have to remind you that before that hearing you are expected to have a conference with your lawyers. In the meantime I am required to remand you in custody.’
Jacques, of Minard Road, Catford, was remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at the Old Bailey on 3 May.
