A care home manager who swiped hundreds of pounds from his elderly residents has been banned from the profession. Derek Wilkinson siphoned off cash from two residents’ funds for his own personal use at the Milldene Nursing Home in Gosforth, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Wilkinson, one of two employees who could withdraw from the funds, abused his privileged access to take hundreds of pounds at a time.
