BHASIN: ALLEGED FLAT FIRE KILLER TO FACE TRIAL NEXT MONTH
A man charged with killing his father and lodger in a fire at their home is to stand trial next month.
Ram Bhasin, 80, and Indian sales executive Sunil Koosuru, 29, died from smoke inhalation following a blaze at (26) Chapman Street, Shadwell, east London, at 1.20am on March 7 this year.
Mr Koosuru, a sales executive for a web hosting company in Fulham, southwest London, had only recently moved into the building.
Aaron Bhasin, who had also lived at the address in Chapman Street, is accused of two counts of murder and one count of arson with intent to endanger life.
The 52-year-old appeared at the Old Bailey today (Mon) via video-link from prison for a brief preliminary.
Bhasin is yet to formally enter a plea to the charges.
He was remanded in custody to appear in court again on October 31 for trial.
