Cop cleared of baton attack

A police officer accused of using unlawful force when he repeatedly hit a youth with his baton has been cleared of assault. DC Kevin Rowley, 37, allegedly struck the 17-year old as he cried out: ‘I am a child… this is illegal. You can’t do this.’ But the officer was cleared of assault by beating after a day long trial at Hendon Magistrates’ Court.
