Ex-cop killed resident at Salvation Army hostel

A former police officer killed a drunken resident at a Salvation Army hostel by shoving him backwards out of a lift, a court heard. Oliver Hurley, 64, allegedly pushed Manolito Chando with such force that the Croatian was lifted off his feet and fell backwards suffering catastrophic head injuries. Hurley, a former member of the Republic of Ireland’s Garda, later told police Mr Chando, 56, had been a ‘pest’ before the alleged attack in central London on 24 March 2016….
