He threatened woman from his prison cell
A former youth worker sent a threatening text to a woman from his cell while serving a sentence for knifing a shopper in a supermarket.
Laurie Georgiou, 36, was jailed for eight years and four months in 2016 for stabbing Jamal Qasen at the Akdeniz Supermarket in Hackney, east London
The thug had chased Mr Qasen up and down the aisles before plunging a knife into his thigh in front of terrified shoppers and children back in September 2013.
Georgiou was quickly identified from CCTV of the attack thanks to a distinctive Che Guevara tattoo on his upper arm but he avoided arrest for another 13 months.
He later claimed he carried out the stabbing in retaliation for injuries he suffered at the hands of Mr Qasen’s gang – but the victim insisted he did not know Georgiou at all.
Georgiou, of Homerton, was convicted of wounding with intent by an Old Bailey jury in January 2016.
He returned to the same court to admit sending an electronic communication with intent to cause distress while in jail.
He sent a text message to Georgia Middleton threatening to punch her teeth out, the court heard.
Ms Middleton has applied for a restraining order to be placed on Mr Georgiou.
Georgiou will return for sentence later this week when he is likely to be handed a restraining order banning him from contact with Ms Middleton.
