Hospice face £25,000 bill over Legionnaire’s death

  A hospice were ordered to pay £25,000 today (FRI) after a patient died of Legionnaire’s disease because of a faulty water system. St Christopher Hospice in Sydenham failed to take action despite being warned about the risks as early as 2004. Patient Peter Tweedie passed away after contracting the illness in August 2012 and nurse Evelyn Nokes also became ‘seriously ill’ a few months later.
