‘I was not trying to kill Sir Robert Malpas’

A Tube passenger today (Fri) denied trying to murder former Eurotunnel chairman Sir Robert Malpas by pushing him in front of a train. Paul Crossley, 46, is said to have shoved the 90 year-old retired businessman on to the tracks at Marble Arch station on 27 April. Sir Robert, who was knighted in the Queen’s birthday honours on his retirement, was saved when French national Riyad El-Hassani, 24, jumped down and threw him back on to the platform.
