LEWIS: MAN DENIES ALLOTMENT MURDER NINE YEARS ON
A man has today (Weds) denied murdering a prostitute whose remains were discovered buried in an allotment six years after she disappeared.
Sinclair Lewis is said to have killed mother-of-one Julie Dorsett on an unknown date between October 2002 and August 2008 – when her body was found at Low Hall Allotments in Bridge Road, Walthamstow.
Ms Dorsett had last been seen at a family friend’s home in Benthal Road, Stoke Newington, on October 3, 2002.
Lewis, 54, appeared via video-link from Belmarsh prison during the short hearing before the Old Bailey, in which he spoke only to confirm his identity and deny involvement in the 33-year-old’s death.
He will be held in custody while he awaits trial on January 23 next year.
Lewis, of no fixed address, denies murder and preventing lawful and decent burial of a corpse.
