Nurse fiddled as patient died

A mental health nurse who was playing with his phone moments before a suicidal woman under his care tried to hang herself has been let off with a caution. Simeon Adesina was pulled aside for using the device while he carried out observations on the troubled patient at Willow Ward, in Oakley Court, Luton. The woman, who suffered ‘ongoing suicidal thoughts’, tied a ligature round her neck as the matron told off Adesina outside the room on 7 April 2016….
