‘Penniless’ Romanian gem raiders ordered to pay back £300k

Three Romanian burglars who grabbed gems from a jewellers after drilling through the wrong wall and tunnelling into a bookies must pay back £300,000 or face more jail time. Florin-Cristin Neagu, 47, and Sorin Munteanu, 44, dug into the basement of George Attenborough & Son on London’s Fleet Street before fleeing the country. The Romanian pair carried out the ‘sophisticated and daring’ Hatton Garden-style raid over a weekend, using the crowds cheering on the London Landmarks Half Marathon as cover….
