TURNER: ARREST WARRANT FOR SWINDLING SOLDIER
A warrant was issued for the arrest of a soldier who took out a string of loans using fake IDs.
Daniel Turner, 24, was due to be sentenced today (Thurs) for three counts of fraud and one count of theft at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
The serving soldier pleaded guilty to all charges at an earlier hearing in July, and was bailed to return to court but did not show up.
Turner used aliases to apply for three bank loans totaling £2,685 between December 2010 and May this year, while he was based at Wellington Barracks in central London.
He has also admitted stealing blank cheques from another person at the barracks between the same date.
Turner, whose family live in Walsall, has since been transferred to Lille Barracks in Aldershot, Hants.
Magistrates issued a warrant without bail for his arrest to bring him back before the court for sentence.
