The boy’s mother later told the GMC of her surprise when her medical records were produced in court.
She was giving evidence against Dr Mohammad Khalaf, who is accused of using confidential records to help him beat a teenager’s sex attack allegation.
The woman, of Cherrydown Avenue, Chigwell, said: ‘I thought that my medical records were being used and I was very upset.
‘I did not react during my evidence because I did not think it was appropriate and I was not really sure what the rules were.
‘I asked the police and my son’s counsel after I had given evidence and they said it was something I would have to take up at a later date.
‘
Asked by Mr Martin if she had given permission for her records to be used the woman replied: ‘No.
‘
The officer in the case, Det Sgt John Fowler, later confirmed to the committee that during the investigation the issue of the mum’s medical records did not arise and they were never supplied to him.
The hearing continues.
