DAVIS: BEAN COUNTER ‘STOLE £186K’ FROM MAYFAIR FIRM

A tax accountant has appeared in court today (tues) accused of plundering £186,000 from clients at the Mayfair firm where he worked.

Dale Davis, 30, is accused of stealing the funds from customers at Wilton and Partners in Grosvenor Street, Mayfair, west London.

He allegedly stole a total of £186,280 from a number of clients over a six month period.

Davis appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court charged with theft by employee.

His case was committed to Southwark Crown Court.

Chairman of the bench Laura Robarts said: ‘We decline jurisdiction and send this matter the crown court.

‘Your case is allocated to the crown court and you must appear at Southwark Crown Court on 9 September at 9.30am.

‘If you fail to appear you could be committing a further offence.’

Davis, who wore a dark grey suit and light grey shirt in the dock, has not yet entered a plea to the allegation.

Davis, of (Flat 1, Lonsdale House, 23) Lonsdale Road, Bournemouth, is charged with theft by employee between 19 June 2012 and 25 January 2013.

He was released on unconditional bail and ordered to appear on 9 September for a preliminary hearing.
