Trial for boy accused of Snapchat row murder
A 16 year-old boy accused of stabbing a teenager to death in a row over a Snapchat video will stand trial in November.
The suspect is said to have knifed 16 year-old Osman Sharif in the chest with a kitchen knife in front of a crowd of youths in Tottenham, north London.
It was later claimed the fight started after footage of girls fighting was shared over social media.
Police were called to reports of a group of youths fighting with knives and other weapons in Tottenham Green near the junction with Tynemouth Road at around 5.15pm on 6 June.
Osman, who lived in the Tottenham area, died at the scene.
The suspect, also from Tottenham, was charged with murder two days later.
He appeared at the Old Bailey by video link for a short administrative hearing to set a timetable for the case.
The teenager, who cannot be named because of his age, will return to court to enter his plea to the charge of murder on 29 August.
He is expected to stand trial on 20 November and the case is set to last two weeks.
