Deliveroo rider flashed between drop-offs and took upskirt pics

A Deliveroo driver who flashed at women on his delivery route has been spared jail.

Italo Souza, 22, began his sordid campaign when he took a 28-second ‘upskirt’ video of an unsuspecting shopper on an escalator at Westfield shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush, on 8 July.

Ten days later Souza exposed himself to three women as he rode around West Hampstead making deliveries for Pasta Evangelists and Co-op.

The pervert filmed two other women beneath their clothing at a KFC in Edgware Road, and at Mooboo Bubble Tea in Camden, Wood Green Crown Court heard.

Souza, from Brent, northwest London, admitted three counts of exposure and three counts of voyeurism.

He was sentenced to an 18-month community order with 100 hours of unpaid work to be completed and a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement.

Gillian Travers, from the CPS, said: ‘Italo Souza exposed himself to three lone women in broad daylight making them feel vulnerable, scared and uncomfortable.

‘One victim described seeing Souza holding his camera phone in one hand while exposing himself and smirking at her, adding to her distress.

‘He also filmed three different women under their clothing without their consent in public places, including at a KFC and below an ascending escalator in Westfield shopping centre. This is illegal and a grave invasion of privacy.

‘Although we do not know the identity of these women, we used the recently enhanced legal tools available to us to prosecute these upskirting offences.

‘The prosecution case included strong witness testimony from three victims and CCTV footage of Souza riding around north London on his moped wearing distinctive orange shorts.

‘Women should be free to go about their lives without having their privacy invaded in this vile way or being sexually intimidated. It is important that those who behave in this way know they will be prosecuted.

‘Exposure and voyeurism may indicate a propensity to commit more serious sexual offences. We as the CPS want women to know they can be confident we are robust in stopping these perpetrators in their tracks.’
