Perverted pensioner in Tolworth park
A pensioner who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in a park was warned he faces jail.
Christopher Birmingham, 65, admitted touching the teenager inappropriately in Alexandra Recreational Park, Tolworth, Surrey, on 19 June last year.
Judge Stephen John told Birmingham: ‘It’s inappropriate, in my view, to sentence in a case of this nature without obtaining a pre-sentence report.
‘All options will remain open to the sentencing judge, including immediate custody. Do you understand?’
He renewed Birmingham’s bail ahead of sentence on 12 April at Kingston Crown Court and said he must now attend probation appointments.
Birmingham, of Surbiton, admitted sexual assault of a girl under the age of 16.
He appeared in court wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie.
