Arms dealer supplied weapons for eight robberies
An arms dealer who supplied a hunting knife and an imitation firearm to suspects in eight different robberies has been jailed for eight years.
Junior Palius Britto, 27, was found guilty of conspiracy to commit robbery after an investigation of eight robberies carried out between March and July of 2019 in St John’s Wood, North West London.
The robbers that Britto supported would stalk their victims in a stolen Audi S3 and look out for victims wearing high-value watches.
Britto’s DNA was recovered from the sheaf of a large hunting knife dropped at the scene of one robbery.
He was then arrested at Gatwick Airport in August 2019.
The investigation led by the Metropolitan Police is part of an ongoing effort to drive down violent crime in and around London.
The current financial year shows a reduction across serious violent crime, including a 39% reduction in robbery offences compared to 2019/20 figures.
Junior Pelius Britto, of Kilburn, was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court to eight years in prison on Friday 27 May.
