A woman who believed her boyfriend ‘would not hurt
A woman who believed her boyfriend ‘would not hurt a fly’ told a court how he repeatedly beat and raped her for five months.
The 21-year-old was allegedly smashed over the head with a rum bottle, thrashed with a baseball bat and made to star in a pornograpic film by Raymond Genas.
The woman said 20-stone Genas raped her four times in a five-month period from August last year until he was arrested on February 1.
Genas, 36, is also standing trial for the rape and indecent assault of two 14-year-old girls he asked to babysit his three-year-old son
The woman, from Devon, said the first rape happened after she spent an evening out with friends.
She told the jury: ‘We got into the flat and he started smashing a bottle over my head saying I was lying to him.
‘The bottle broke.
He said get into the kitchen because he did not want blood on his carpet.
It was a Bacardi bottle.
‘I really did think he was a nice person.
I did not think he could hurt a fly.
But when that took place I started to see the real him.
He was controlling my life.

The woman was then raped in the bedroom she shared with Genas, it is alleged.
On another occasion between Christmas and New Year Genas attacked her for not tidying up properly, the court heard.
‘There was an incident when he went out and he asked me to do the washing up for him and tidy up for him,’ she said.
‘He then later came back and started to inspect the dishes.
He liked everything perfect.
He was very hygienic.
‘He asked for sex.
I said no.
I was scared.
I made an excuse that I was on my period.
He would not take no for an answer.
‘He beat me and then had sex with me in the bathroom.
‘I started to go into the bedroom because I wanted to go to bed.
But he wanted sex before he went to sleep.
I did not agree to having sex with him.
‘He was just saying: ”You have to have sex with me.
”
‘Because I felt really intimidated and small I said yes because I did not know what he was going to do next.
She said that afterwards Genas acted as if nothing had happened.
‘I did not feel like a person.
I cannot really explain how it felt.

The third attack is alleged to have taken place on New Year’s Eve.
Genas flew into a rage when she asked him if he was sleeping with another prostitute when they were in his car.
He hit her in the face and legs and continued the attack when they arrived back at his Deptford home, it was alleged.
‘He came in and started kicking and punching me in my face.
He always went for my face.
It stopped after a while and he demanded sex.
‘I said: ”No” but I did not really have a choice at that stage.
‘I think he found it sexual having sex after beating me up.

Genas then forced the woman into the bathroom where he hitched up her dress.
‘He ripped my knickers off and started smelling my knickers because that is what turned him on,’ she
recalled.
The woman also claimed Genas forced her to have oral sex.
On January 24, the woman said she was beaten with a baseball bat after Genas caught her talking to a black man which was against his personal rules.
A few days later she took part in a pornographic video with a prostitute who had moved in with them.
During the film the woman had to wear an eye patch to cover the bruises inflcited by Genas, the court heard.
The final rape happened after a party on January 27, it was alleged.
‘After the garage party we arrived back at Raymond’s house.
He wanted sex.
I said no because I was not feeling well.
‘He took me into the bathroom.
He raped me.
‘
The woman admitted to having consensual sex with Genas throughout the period of the attacks.
Genas, of Deptford High Street, Deptford, denies five counts of rape, three of indecent assault, two of causing actual bodily harm and living off the immoral earnings of prostitution.
