End of career for nurse who gambled with elderly patient’s cash

A care home manager jailed for stealing almost £100,000 from a 97-year-old resident to gamble at casinos has been thrown out the profession. Carleen Wilkins, 40 managed the Robert Harvey House Care Home, Birmingham, where she formed ‘a close personal bond’ with the patient and was entrusted with her finances.
