Murdered when he popped out for milk

Three alleged killers charged with murdering a 21-year-old man last week were remanded in custody.

Bartosz Wyrzykowski – known as Bartek – was stabbed to death after he went out to buy some milk with his girlfriend in Eltham, southeast London, on 8 February.

He was treated at the scene of the attack in Lionel Road and taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Yusuf Aydin, 21, Jack Davies, 19, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named, appeared at the Old Bailey charged with his murder.

Prosecutor Peter Ratliffe claimed the three defendants attacked Mr Wyrzykowski after pulling up next to him in a car.

‘The prosecution’s case is that each of these defendants were occupants in the vehicle.

‘All were aggressive towards the victim.

‘Continual pushing and shoving the victim back down the road.

‘They then began attacking the victim.

‘He was stabbed, the prosecution suggests by…a machete style knife.’

Mr Wyrzykowski was treated at the scene and taken to the Royal London Hospital but died from his injuries.

He was pronounced dead at 7:05pm that evening.

The post-mortem gave the cause of death as an ‘incised stab wound to the pelvic area severing the pelvic vein causing significant internal bleeding’.

Mr Ratliffe added: ‘All defendants were arrested either on 11th or 12th of February.’

Aydin and Davies, both of Greenwich, and the 16-year-old were remanded in custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing on 3 May.
