One legged man facing double rape trial
A one legged man accused of strangling and raping a teenage girl after grabbing her off the street will stand trial in March.
Mohammed Farah, 38, allegedly attacked the 15-year-old as she walked alone through east London on 9 October last year.
Farah, who lost his leg in a motorcycle accident in Kenya in 2007, is also accused of raping a 38-year-old woman at his house in Barking, Essex, less than a month earlier on September 15.
He earlier denied two charges of rape and will now face a jury on 27 March at Southwark Crown Court.
It is alleged that during Farah’s first attack the woman woke to find him on top of her ‘extremely aggressively’ raping her at his house in Barking.
The underage girl was walking from Stratford to Barking alone and a man called out to her.
The man, allegedly Farah, took her behind some flats, gave her alcohol, raped her, strangled her and threatened to kill her if she told anybody.
Farah, of (34) Hurstbourne Gardens, Barking, denies one count of rape and one count of rape of a child under the age of 16.
Judge Stephen Robbins remanded Farah in custody ahead of a five day trial starting on 27 March.
