Retrial for ‘death on a zebra’ lawyer

A lawyer accused of killing a 91-year-old great grandfather after driving into him on a zebra crossing on her morning commute is facing a retrial. Charlotte Griffiths, 26, allegedly sent Basant Lal Sharma ‘flying into the air’ when she crashed into him in her blue Ford Fiesta on Wanstead High Street, east London. Griffiths, then 24, hit Mr Sharma after 8.52am on 31 May last year and the great grandfather died from a traumatic brain injury at 1.06pm, jurors heard….
