Romanian denies cutting ex’s throat and leaving her to die

A Romanian man accused of cutting his former partner’s throat and leaving her to die in the street denied murder today (mon). Genu Armeanu, 45, is said to have repeatedly stabbed 44-year-old Elizabeta Lacatusu opposite a nursery school in Ilford, east London, on 3 January. Miss Lacatusu, also from Romania, collapsed in Norfolk Road with serious stab injuries at around 7.09pm. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
