Police officer’s Taser ‘assault’ left suspect wheelchair-bound

A suspected bookies raider was left wheelchair-bound after a Met Police officer fired his Taser at him and he fell off a shed, a court heard. Leonard Sandiford, 61, sustained life changing injuries after PC Liam Newman, 31, gave chase and repeatedly discharged his stun gun in Woodford Green, east London.
